24 Jul What makes iCTG different from conventional CTG?
iCTG is a medical device that can measure fetal heart rate and uterine contractions. When transducers are placed on the pregnant woman’s stomach to measure, the measurement results are displayed in an application on a smartphone or tablet and can be used by midwives and doctors for diagnosis.
There are several differences between iCTG and conventional CTG.
- It is completely cable-free, so it’s easy to carry, clean and disinfect.
- Measured data is securely stored on a cloud server. There’s dedicated cloud servers in the South-East Asia region.
- Can be used to check the condition of the mother and child during emergency transport to a referral hospital.

It is useful for use at prenatal checkups and in areas where there are few obstetricians, and can be particularly useful in areas where the disparity in maternal mortality between urban and rural areas is widening.
